MCM Flexible Stone for Oceania — TooFlexi

Overview

Australia and New Zealand run a performance-based code with clear fire-hazard grouping for linings and non-combustibility expectations for external walls. TooFlexi’s A2 class (GB 8624) inorganic veneer and light weight align naturally with these requirements. This hub groups the Oceania guide with compliance and buying references.

See the fire-safety hub and specifications for the technical basis, then the regional guide below.

Australia & New Zealand — The Compliance Landscape

  • NCC & fire-hazard groups. The National Construction Code classifies internal wall and ceiling linings into Groups 1–4 under Specification C1.10. Group 1 is the best performing and is accepted in every location and building class; the group is determined by AS 5637.1:2015.
  • Test methods. Group number is set by the AS ISO 9705 full-scale room test, or (with limits) the cone calorimeter per AS/NZS 3837. Materials with joints, profiles or reflective surfaces must use the full-scale test.
  • Smoke (unsprinklered). Class 2–9 buildings without sprinklers also need smoke performance — smoke growth rate index ≤ 100 or average specific extinction area < 250 m²/kg.
  • External walls. NCC expects non-combustible material for many external-wall applications; external wall fire performance is assessed per AS 5113.
  • Bushfire. Bushfire Attack Levels (BAL, AS 3959) can require non-combustible cladding up to BAL-29.
  • New Zealand. The NZ Building Code follows a similar performance approach with shared AS/NZS standards.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is TooFlexi Group 1 rated?

We do not currently hold an AS 5637.1 Group 1 test report. Panels are A2 class (GB 8624) inorganic veneer, which aligns with the limited-combustibility / best-group intent; AS 5113 external-wall evidence can be discussed per project.

Can it be used on external walls in Australia?

The inorganic A2 material supports limited-combustibility external-wall specification. Final acceptance depends on the NCC classification route and the complete façade system — coordinate with your certifier.

Do you ship to Australia / NZ?

Yes. Orders ship FOB Shenzhen with freight to AU/NZ ports; contact our team for Incoterms and lead times.
