Flexible Stone Veneer Specifications: Thickness, Weight, Sizes & Fire Rating

Flexible Stone Veneer Specifications: Thickness, Weight, Sizes & Fire Rating

Flexible stone veneer — also called MCM (Modified Clay Material) flexible stone — is a
thin, bendable surfacing sheet made by transferring a genuine stone / mineral layer onto a
flexible composite backing. Before you specify it for a project or a container order, you need
the hard numbers. This page is the buyer-facing specification sheet for TooFlexi™ MCM flexible
stone veneer: thickness, weight per square metre, sheet sizes, fire classification, bend
radius, temperature range, and substrate compatibility — all in one table you can copy into a
spec or an RFQ.

Thickness — 2–9 mm by Texture

Flexible stone veneer thickness ranges from 2–9 mm, determined by the texture
family rather than by a single fixed gauge. Flatter, linear textures sit toward the thin end of
the range; deeper relief and 3D simulation textures reach the upper end. The thin profile is what
makes the product light enough to apply over existing substrates and flexible enough to wrap
columns and radii.

If your specification requires a specific gauge for a particular texture, request the
product data sheet for that colour code — each of
the 400+ textures carries its own measured thickness.

Sheet Sizes & Formats

Two standard production formats cover most projects:

  • 600 × 1200 mm — the default sheet, 0.72 m², easiest to handle and ship.
  • 1200 × 2400 mm — large-format sheet for façades and feature walls where
fewer joints and faster coverage matter.

Both formats share the same 2–9 mm thickness range and 3.0–10.5 kg/m² weight band. When a shipment lands, those numbers get measured against reality — our incoming inspection checklist lists the acceptance limits we work to. Custom
dimensions can be discussed for project-scale orders.

Weight per Square Metre (3.0–10.5 kg/m²)

TooFlexi flexible stone veneer weighs 3.0–10.5 kg/m². For comparison,
conventional ceramic or stone tile typically weighs 20–30 kg/m², and solid stone cladding is far
heavier still. The low weight is the single biggest reason specifiers choose flexible veneer for
retrofit, high-rise, and lightweight-structure projects: it reduces dead load, simplifies
substrate preparation, and lowers logistics weight per square metre of coverage.

Fire Rating — A2-s1,d0 (GB 8624)

TooFlexi MCM flexible stone veneer is classified A2-s1,d0 under
GB 8624, verified by factory testing — i.e. limited combustibility, with very
low smoke production and no flaming droplets. This places it in the non-combustible-to-limited
combustibility band suitable for exterior façades and fire-sensitive interiors.

It can be specified to meet the fire-safety requirements of major international building codes;
project-specific test documentation (CE / ASTM / ISO, as applicable) is available on request.

Standards Guide

Flexibility & Minimum Bend Radius

Unlike rigid tile or stone, flexible stone veneer bends. The typical minimum bend radius is
around 30 mm, which lets it wrap columns, curved walls, arched reveals, and
rounded furniture without cracking. This is why it appears so often in
exterior façade
and curved-application specifications.

Service Temperature & Climate Suitability

The product is rated for a service temperature of −20 °C to +60 °C, making it
suitable for cold-climate markets (e.g. Russia, Canada) as well as hot, humid regions (e.g. the
Gulf, Southeast Asia). Combined with its A2 fire class and low weight, this broad operating
window is what lets a single product line serve both temperate and extreme-climate projects.

Substrate Compatibility

Flexible stone veneer adheres to a wide range of sound, stable substrates:

  • Cementitious: concrete, cement board, render, plaster
  • Masonry: brick, AAC (autoclaved aerated concrete)
  • Existing finishes: properly prepared tile, painted walls
  • Interior wood-based: MDF and similar stable boards (interior use)

Correct substrate preparation and a compatible adhesive are covered in our
Installation Guide.

Packaging, MOQ & Lead Time

For importers and distributors, the commercial parameters are:

  • MOQ: 200–500 m² per colour (custom colours subject to separate minimums).
  • Lead time: 20–25 working days from confirmed order.
  • Packaging: sheets are packed in protective cartons on pallets; pallet
configuration is confirmed at order stage based on sheet size and destination.
  • Trade terms: standard FOB Shenzhen.

Warranty

TooFlexi flexible stone veneer carries a 10+ year warranty under standard
installation conditions, with project documentation provided per shipment. Warranty terms are
confirmed in the pro-forma invoice and are separate from the product specification above.

How to Use This Specification Sheet

Copy the quick specification table above directly into a project spec, an RFQ, or a
comparison sheet — the values are the same ones TooFlexi supplies per shipment. When you issue
a request for quotation, pair this sheet with our
Import Buyer’s
Guide
(HS codes, documentation, and manufacturer vetting) and confirm the exact gauge and
weight for your chosen texture from the
product range. For the underlying test methods and
third-party references, use the

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the standard thickness of flexible stone veneer?

TooFlexi MCM flexible stone veneer ranges from 2–9 mm thick, depending on the
texture family. Flatter linear textures are thinner; deeper 3D relief textures are thicker. Each
of the 400+ colours carries its own measured gauge, available on the product data sheet.

How much does flexible stone veneer weigh per m²?

It weighs 3.0–10.5 kg/m². That is roughly a quarter to a third of the weight
of conventional ceramic or stone tile (20–30 kg/m²), which is why it is favoured for retrofit,
high-rise, and lightweight-structure applications.

What sheet sizes are available for flexible stone veneer?

Two standard formats: 600 × 1200 mm (0.72 m², default) and
1200 × 2400 mm large-format for façades. Both share the 2–9 mm thickness and
3.0–10.5 kg/m² weight ranges.

What is the fire rating of flexible stone veneer?

TooFlexi flexible stone veneer is classified A2-s1,d0 under
GB 8624 (factory tested) — limited combustibility with very low smoke and no
flaming droplets. It can be specified to meet the fire-safety requirements of major international
building codes, with project-specific test documentation available on request.

Can flexible stone veneer bend around curves and columns?

Yes. With a minimum bend radius of around 30 mm, it wraps columns, curved
walls, and arched reveals without cracking — one of the main reasons it is chosen over rigid
tile or stone.

What is the minimum temperature flexible stone veneer can withstand?

The rated service temperature is −20 °C to +60 °C, so it performs in both
cold-climate markets (Russia, Canada) and hot, humid regions (the Gulf, Southeast Asia).

Is flexible stone veneer suitable for outdoor façades?

Yes. Its A2-s1,d0 fire class (GB 8624), low weight, and broad temperature range make it
suitable for exterior façades and feature walls, provided substrate preparation and adhesive
follow the installation guide.

What is the MOQ for flexible stone veneer?

The minimum order quantity is 200–500 m² per colour, with a 20–25 working-day
lead time from confirmed order. Custom colours are subject to separate minimums discussed at
order stage.
