Slate at a glance: 31 colourways, 2–3 mm thick, sheet sizes 600×1200 · 1200x2400mm, 3.0–10.5 kg/m², A2 class (GB 8624, factory tested). MOQ 200 m² per colour, lead time 15–25 business days.
What the Slate Series Is
Slate splits along its cleavage into flat planes, leaving a fine riven face with scattered mineral flecks. The TooFlexi Slate Series carries that cleft texture and the natural tonal scatter that comes with it — no two sheets are identical, which is what makes a slate wall read as stone rather than as a repeat print.
Like every TooFlexi panel, Slate is a mineral composite formed by mould pressing and 3D surface technology, not a slice of quarried stone bonded to a backing. That is what keeps the weight at 3.0–10.5 kg/m² — roughly 80% lighter than natural stone — and it is also why colour and structure stay consistent from batch to batch, which quarried stone cannot guarantee.
Slate Colour Range — All 31 Codes
Measured across the actual panel images, the 31 colourways fall into 9 tone families — Light Grey, Warm Off-White, Off-White, Mid Grey, Cream, Soft Terracotta, Warm Beige, Ochre and Charcoal. Lightness runs from Warm Off-White (#F5F4F2) to Charcoal (#424347), so the series covers both high-key and low-key schemes.

Where Slate Panels Are Specified
Slate is used for hotel lobbies and feature walls, restaurant and retail interiors, office reception areas, residential accent walls, bathroom and wet-area surrounds (non-immersed), elevator lobbies and column wraps. Because the material is A2 class (GB 8624, factory tested), it is also accepted on high-rise exteriors and public buildings where combustible cladding is restricted.
Installation Notes for 2–3 mm Slate Panels
At 2–3 mm these are among the thinnest panels in the range, and they conform to curved substrates down to a 200 mm radius — column wraps, radiused reception desks and curved corridor walls are all achievable without cutting to shape. The substrate must be flat and sound: cement board, plasterboard, prepared masonry or sound existing tile. Bond with a polymer-modified adhesive at roughly 3–4 kg/m², and cut on site with a utility knife or angle grinder — no wet saw, no specialist tooling.
No steel keel and no structural reinforcement are needed at 3.0–10.5 kg/m². A single installer can handle large formats unaided, and a typical 200 m² area is completed in 2–3 days.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many colours does the Slate series come in?
31 colourways are currently in production under codes BY30060, BY30050, BY30061, BY30062, BY05209-F and 26 more. Full swatch sets can be requested before you commit to a container order.
What thickness and sheet size does Slate come in?
Slate panels are supplied at 2–3 mm in sheet sizes 600×1200 · 1200x2400mm, weighing 3.0–10.5 kg/m². Other sizes in the TooFlexi range are 600×1200 mm and 1200×2400 mm.
Is Slate suitable for exterior cladding?
Yes. TooFlexi flexible stone is A2 class (GB 8624, factory tested) and can be specified to meet EN 13501-1 A2-s1,d0. The surface is UV-stabilised and waterproof for non-immersed exposure, so it performs outdoors in hot, humid and coastal conditions.
What is the minimum order quantity for Slate?
The MOQ is 200 m² per colour, with a standard lead time of 15–25 business days. Samples are available for evaluation before you place a bulk order.
Can Slate be used on curved surfaces?
Yes. Panels bend around curves with a radius of at least 200 mm, which covers column wraps, radiused walls and curved reception counters without cutting to shape.
